The House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology held a hearing on broadband equity, focused on accessibility and affordability issues. The hearing explores the underlying issues that give rise to broadband access and affordability deficits, as well as alternatives for delivering a reliable, high-speed home internet connection to underserved, disadvantaged and rural households. The Subcommittee viewed these challenges through an equity lens.

The House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Energy held a hearing on the CLEAN Future Act and decarbonizing the transportation sector, focusing on domestic demand for electric vehicles (EV), including hybrid and battery EV, and EV supply equipment (EVSE), especially direct-current fast charging (DCFC) infrastructure. The Department of Energy expects domestic demand for EV and EV supply equipment to increase significantly in the years ahead.

The Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Health convened a hearing on May 4, 2021 entitled: “Making Prescription Drugs More Affordable: Legislation to Negotiate a Better Deal for Americans." Two of Congressman Schrader's bills, the BIOSIM Act (H.R. 2815) and the BLOCKING Act (H.R. 2853) are being considered. The Congressman also asked questions on other proposed bills, including H.R. 3., the “Negotiating a Better Deal: Legislation to Lower the Cost of Prescription Drugs” and H.R. 19.
