Dear Friends -

It's hard to believe that we're already six weeks into the New Year.  Since being sworn in last month, I've been working with my colleagues on both sides of aisle on issues that are important to Oregon's Fifth Congressional District.  I'm building a bipartisan coalition of members who are working to reinstate the Medicare Advantage open enrollment period to give our seniors flexibility when deciding on their health coverage, and I'm working with the Congressional Problem Solvers Caucus on initiatives to make government work for the American people.  As we move forward, I'll continue to advance efforts to control spending, overhaul our current tax code, and reform our broken immigration system.  These are all issues that I know are important to you.

Next Tuesday, February 17th, I'll be hosting the first in a series of town hall meetings around the district, and I'm looking forward to talking about the work I'm doing on your behalf.  These meetings are a chance for us to visit, talk about what's been going on in Washington, and find out ways that my office can be helpful to you. I'll be joined by U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley on our first stop, and this is a great opportunity for you to hear about issues from both the House and Senate.

Sincerely,
