Looking Back at 2019

Dear Neighbors,

This year alone, the House of Representatives passed 245 bipartisan bills. These bills will:
  • Give our seniors relief from sky high prescription drug costs
  • Protect and preserve our coasts
  • Give service members a raise
  • Enact commonsense laws to fight gun violence
  • Designate 26.1 miles of the Molalla River as wild and scenic
  • Protect horses from abuse
One of the best parts of representing the Fifth District of Oregon is meeting my constituents and visiting local businesses throughout the year. This year I visited rotary clubs all over Oregon, Christmas tree farms, departing service members, firefighters minority owned businesses and elementary schools!

This year, my office returned almost a quarter of a million dollars in earned disability and pension benefits to Oregon's veterans. If you are a veteran who needs assistance with the VA, accessing benefits or obtaining medals and awards, please reach out here. We have staff members in Oregon City and Salem standing by to help.

Many people do not know that we have a full time caseworker in Oregon to help constituents with federal agencies including the IRS, Medicare, Housing, Immigration, Passports, Social Security, Postal Service, Consumer Issues, Identity Theft, Federal Communications Commission, Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Security Authority, Federal Trade Commission, Housing and Urban Development, Active Military, and National Guard. In 2019, my office returned over $100,000 in dollars to constituents.

I will continue working across the aisle in the House of Representatives to get things done for hardworking Oregonians! I am extremely proud to be your representative in Congress.

Wishing you and your family a happy holidays and a safe and healthy 2020!

Sincerely,

(signed)

Member of Congress
