Bill to save salmon by reducing sea lion populations moves through U.S. CongressKATULawmakers in Washington D.C. are sticking up for endangered salmon and steelhead at the expense of their voracious predator, the sea lion. The "Endangered Salmon and Fisheries Predation Prevention Act" cleared ongress on Tuesday The effort is led by Reps. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-Washington) and Kurt Schrader (D-Oregon), gives tribal groups and fish managers the right to kill sea lions, which are also a protected species.
