Congressional Art Competition

Each spring, a nationwide high school art competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation and in each Congressional District. Since its inception in 1982, over 650,000 high school students have been involved in the Congressional Art Competition.
The winning entries from each district are prominently displayed in the Cannon Tunnel in Washington, D.C. The Cannon Tunnel connects the Cannon House Office Building with the U.S. Capitol and is traveled on a daily basis by members of Congress, staff members and people visiting our nation's capital.
This year, I will be hosting the Congressional Art Competition online to continue to recognize high school art students for their talents.
If you are a high school student in Oregon’s 5th Congressional District, I invite you to participate. The deadline to submit art for the 2021 Congressional Art Competition is April 30, 2021 and for more information, click here.
