Schrader Reintroduces BUILD CTE Act to Boost Career Technical Education Programs
WASHINGTON – To ensure we can continue to grow jobs here in America, Congressman Kurt Schrader (OR-05) reintroduced the Building Understanding, Investment, Learning and Direction (BUILD) Career and Technical Education Act today.
The bill creates a 2-year, $20 million Career and Technical Education pilot program to secure greater cooperation between local education agencies and business and industry. The program will expand and grow CTE programs that focus on giving students hands-on experience and better prepare them for cutting-edge, in-demand careers.
“CTE programs give students the in-demand, high-level skills they need to get jobs available in their communities. This bill will have an important effect on our economy and create a direct opportunity to boost American manufacturing,” said Congressman Schrader. “We need to help our kids secure good paying jobs here at home and put more American-made goods on our store shelves.
Congressman Schrader introduced the bill in the 113th Congress as a part of the Make It in America initiative.
